KUWAIT UNIVERSITY, KUWAIT

Year: 2013

Area:1590 SM

Project: Kuwait University/ ancillary buildings

-Implementation of natural ventilation

using ventilation towers and air intake
louvres for the double height garage
area, being the most active
component of the project.
-Large overhangs to provide shade
and minimize heat gain.
-Open court for the administration
section as a typical environmental
design approach for hot arid climates.
- High thermal mass elements including
concrete block partitions.
-Corridors are considered buffer
zones between naturally ventilated
area and air tight mechanically
cooled zone.
Given sustainability strategies as
design considerations, I created
mass, model and geometry in response
to those demands.
